PULAU ASMARA (Love Island) is my first feature film. The film was shot on the HD video format and later kine-transfered to film for theatrical release. 3 friends (Taufik, Jeffri and Sam) go on vacation to popular holiday island Pulau Langkawi. They meet 3 women separately (Lina, Amy and Sofea) in situations that evoke love, laughter and tears, eventually changing their outlooks in Life. With a crafty screenplay, and scenes both dramatically and visually engrossing, the film takes the audience through a roller coaster of emotions that linger on the mind even after the final frame. Pulau Asmara also highlights the plight of women caught in 3 different challenging situations.
